Surrey, Delta give new housing unit numbers

A proposed high-rise development on the Scott Road corridor in North Delta is under review, aiming to transform the site into a 32-storey mixed-use building with 336 market strata units and 59 rental units. This aligns with the city's Official Community Plan, allowing for no public hearing. Meanwhile, Surrey reported progress on its housing target of 27,256 new units, achieving 2,567 units in the first year. Delta's housing target is 3,607 units, with 561 completed, surpassing the provincial goal. Both cities are addressing challenges like high interest rates and construction costs.
